February Tidbits:

Tidbit #1: My great aunt has just passed away, losing her battle with cancer. I didn't know her very well, but I'm still overcome with emotion. I'm mostly extremely worried for my grandma (her sister) and my aunt (her neice) because they were both very close to her and also since my grandma has already had enough tragedy and sadness in her life. May my great aunt rest in peace.

Tidbit #2: Job search has taken a dramatic, confusing, and as a result, an overly stressful turn. Should resolve itself one way or another by the end of this week. I hope.

Tidbit #3: 26 feels no different from 25. In fact, I feel less mature and responsible than I did a year ago. All I've been doing lately is sitting around watching old episodes of X-Files, which I find are surprisingly still very good. Scully's suits, however, are tremendously outdated with their super shoulder pads and wide leg pants which make her seem like she's 4'11". What HAS Gillian Anderson doing lately, anyway?

Tidbit #4: My car needs a good washing, but I have no idea where to go get it washed here in the city. And it's not like I can bring a bucket of soapy water and a sponge over to the parking garage and take care of the dirt problem.

Tidbit #5: The US Treasury is issuing another set of dollar coins, this time with US presidents' faces on them. 4 new presidents will be introduced every year until they are all covered, much like what they did with state quarters. I don't think that they'll really succeed in getting people to ditch the paper dollar in favor of these coins unless they stop printing the $1 greenbacks. Having said that, I think that if we could get this whole dollar coin thing working, it could make life a lot easier. Think of how much nicer it would be trying to pay for stuff at vending machines without sitting in front of it for 5 minuts trying to straighten out an old, frayed dollar bill?

Tidbit #6: I once thought that the Japanese were efficient. Then I learned that their bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo is just as bad, if not worse, than the US. Where is my JET pension refund people?! Sheesh.
